Anxiety and Depression are emotions that many of us have experienced at one time another. In session we can process your thoughts and feelings which can bring relief and lead to improved emotional states.
Anyone can experience a traumatic event and many of us have already.This includes Racial Trauma, Community Trauma, Micro-aggressions and other discrimination based traumas. Anxiety, flashbacks, panic attacks, painful memories and images are often triggered because of the exposure to trauma. In session clients are educated about the impact of trauma on the brain and body. Clients are given the treatment and tools to heal, recover, and live the best life possible.
Dr. Blackwell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces who has been employed in the mental health and addiction field for over 25 years.
He has worked with different populations including; survivors of trauma, people dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles and individuals in recovery,
Dr. Blackwell is dedicated to helping people work through their issues and achieving their personal goals. He is an empathic and supportive Social Worker.
In response to COVID 19, we now provide internet audio/video sessions. This allows you the convenience of having private sessions using your compatible mobile device or computer. We use HIPAA compliant healthcare software which helps to protect your privacy and confidentiality.

Our experience includes over 25 years of providing community mental health and addiction outpatient services. We provide 50 minute counseling sessions to individuals online or in a comfortable quiet private office setting.
We have received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (A.C.T.) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T.), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (D.B.T.), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Recovery Empowerment and Empowerment Model (M-TREM), & Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
